The work of John Cage will probably long been a challenge to the musical world and its conventions. His approach was too often caricatured and reduced to a mere provocation. At a time when we can not stop perpetuating the old myth of neo-romantic artist and the sacredness of the work of art, the real scandal Cage may lie there.
